The Belt Database.

| Since I know how difficult it is to determine the size of a belt that is already completely “crumbled,” here are the (measured) specifications for some tape belts.
The length specifications always refer to the single length (straps folded together).
This value must be doubled for the circumference of the belt.
All length specifications were measured on used belts.
Therefore, select a length that is approx. 5% shorter for new belts.
I have tried to measure as accurately as possible, but cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information provided.
The information under “Type” in the table is based on the belts found. However, it is possible that over the years the original belt has been replaced by a “similar” one. For example, triangular instead of square or round. There were also changes made by the manufacturers (during the sometimes quite long construction periods), for example in the case of the “Uher Report” devices, where different belt shapes were installed at the factory. This is generally not a problem as long as the belt does not run too far to the outside of the pulley and thus jumps off or significantly changes the transmission ratio. Another tip regarding the triangular belts that were used by Uher for a long time. These are hardly available anymore today. However, in almost all cases, square belts can also be used as replacements. The Report devices are an exception. There is not enough space here, so a square belt runs along the periphery. Round belts should be used instead for these devices. If anyone has any information about Belts, I would be grateful if you could send me an email (it will then be posted here). |
