Here is another example from the extensive list of different versions (MK versions and housing versions) of the A77.
By the way, if anyone can explain to me what this “MK” actually stands for (I know what it means), I would be grateful for a hint. This is the suitcase version (MK II, built between approximately 1969 and 1971, 2-track) with built-in power amplifiers and speakers. Countless high-quality live recordings were probably made with such machines, even if their weight seems somewhat excessive from today's perspective. Unfortunately, the (4!) built-in speakers are not really that great. They are acceptable in the high and mid-range frequencies and highly efficient, but they lack real bass. Otherwise, the same applies to this version as to all other A77 models: Uncomplicated, low maintenance, reliable, and with really good values. |
