The type designation “B77 MKI” given above is actually incorrect. It is simply the “B77,” because when it was built, no one probably thought that there would ever be a second series (the “MKII”). For the sake of simplicity distinction, however, this device is generally referred to as “MKI.” Apart from a few minor improvements, the biggest difference between the two versions is that the capstan speed on the “MKI” can only be controlled externally, using an additional device.   I received the machine presented here, which dates from 1979, from the previous owner with the note that two fuses kept blowing. As it turned out, however, this was not the only fault. It really had almost all of the common faults known to occur with the B77. Therefore, I will show a few pictures of the repair below.
