The 724L Stereo, the predecessor of the “Variocord”

The 724L Stereo was the “largest” in a whole series of 7xx devices.
Presumed years of construction: mid to late 1960s.
At a time when stereo and two switchable tape speeds were not yet standard features.
A rather interesting and practical detail are the sockets for the inputs and outputs located on the side. This makes it possible to plug into different sockets without having to turn the rather heavy device around each time. |
