| Although technically sophisticated, Grundig devices always had something of a reputation as staid “grandfather” tape recorders.
That was probably more due to the design than to its performance. In any case, I am very satisfied with the “TK 845” shown here.
The only criticism is the somewhat weak single-motor drive. In conjunction with fairly complex mechanics, a lot of attention and care is required to ensure that the device still winds quickly at the end of the tape.
The two built-in speakers sound surprisingly good. In addition to the many tricks it can do, there are also some well-thought-out details.
For example, the extendable feet for vertical operation. This greatly increases stability.
